Mistakes to avoid
- Calling it a "friendly reminder" when it's already 30 days late. Match the label to the stage.
- Sending it to clients with automatic payment, which looks disorganised.
- Leaving out the payment link.
- Adding a late fee warning in a pre-due-date message.
FAQ
How do you write a friendly invoice reminder?
Keep it to three or four lines: invoice number, amount, due date, payment link, and an offer to help with approval.
Is it OK to remind a client before the due date?
Yes. A short heads up a few days before is common and helps the invoice get into the payment run.
